Karen considers herself an Arizona native as she resided in Arizona since kindergarten though she moved to Oregon in 2019. She continues to commute to Scottsdale AZ for work. She attended Greenway High School, Glendale Community College and graduated college from The University of Phoenix with her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She attended Keller Graduate School to further her accounting education, focusing on international finance and management accounting.
Karen began her real estate career with ITT Financial and moved into the position of bankruptcy coordinator during the RTC administration. She left ITT to become an Assistant Vice President of Old Stone Credit Corporation to take on the role of expanding the lending territory for Arizona and California. She later became the Chief Financial Officer of the Equitable Companies where she was responsible for 46 entities who reported directly to her. She specialized in mortgage banking, insurance and compliance and was responsible for all financial reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer as well as assisted in managing all operations of the businesses.
In 2007 Karen accepted an offer of International CFO at the world headquarters for Realty Executives International. The franchisor was in 24 countries and offered real estate franchises to franchisees. Karen was in charge all financial reporting for the franchisor, taught accounting to new franchisees and traveled extensively representing the international organization.
Karen accepted a position as CFO / COO with Signature Real Estate Services, Inc. in 2012. She is a 50% owner in the company. She is an accomplished international CFO with extensive experience in accounting, leadership, finance, auditing, cash management and budgeting. She has over 30 years of experience in all areas of the real estate business and is proficient in increasing profitability and efficiency. She specializes in streamlining operating and creating a positive work environment. In 1998 – 1999 Karen was recognized as an Honored Professional of the National’s Who’s Who in Executives & Professionals. In 2001 she was awarded Business Woman of the Year and was listed with other award winners in the Wall Street Journal for her accomplishments as an Honorary Chairperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee for work done on tax reform for small businesses.
Karen is a management accountant, financial manager, licensed Arizona real estate agent and a former licensed mortgage broker and insurance agent. She is a member of National Society of Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants, Arizona Association of Realtors, Scottsdale Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors; former member of NSPA, AIPB, AAMB, NAMB and NARI. She is proud to oversee all accounting functions for all of our properties and insures that quality financial statements are issued to our clients.
On a personal note, Karen is a proud wife and mother of three sons. Her oldest is a paramedic for San Mateo County; her middle son is a professional photographer and web designer who owns his own company. Her youngest son is a Region 1 Supervisory Standardization Pilot for the US Department of Agriculture – Forest Service. She is a foster mother for dogs and puppies and supports many charitable local organizations. She loves hiking, camping and all family related activities
